A Trip in History
As adventures go, A&D’s trip to visit the manufacturing facility and home of the Rotastar screening bucket ranks on top of our list. M Lloyd Engineering Ltd is nestled within the rolling hills of Leominster in the United Kingdom. The town’s name stems from the English word ‘minster’, meaning a community of clergy. The local architecture was magnificent. Pictured here is a 13th century detached Bell Tower at the Parish of St. Mary.
The rivers and dams, used for hydroelectricity, intertwine with fields of sheep along extraordinarily narrow roads. Got to say, navigating the countryside on the left side of the road was exhausting. Interestingly, the all freight trucks (called ‘lorries’) are much narrower and higher than you see here in the states. They seem to keep the roadside vegetation at bay. Extra rental car insurance is a good idea.

Lloyd’s Crew – Exceptional Talent
When you work with a manufacturer for over a decade you develop great relationships with the support staff. These guys and gals work hard and have enormous pride for their products. It was well worth the trip just to be able to shake their hands and personally thank each of them.

Beginning with a history of designing and manufacturing agricultural equipment, Matt Lloyd, President and Founder, developed the first rotary screening bucket. Then, in 2007, Matt created the first screening bucket excavator attachment in the world using polyurethane stars. The Rotastar has quickly gained popularity in many countries as simply the best portable screening attachment there is. Lloyd’s straightforward and sensible engineering created an outstanding product.
