Women-Owned. Industry-Driven. Built For What’s Next
A&D Equipment, Inc. is a certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) specializing in heavy-duty attachments for excavators and skid steers. Founded in 2012 and incorporated in 2021, A&D Equipment combines more than 50 years of excavation experience with a commitment to providing contractors, municipalities, and government customers with responsive, knowledgeable service.
As a WOSB, A&D Equipment is proud to bring greater representation and opportunity for women in the traditionally male-dominated construction and excavation industries. Our ownership reflects that commitment: President Donna LaFata holds a 51% ownership stake and leads the company with extensive experience managing commercial and government contracts.
For A&D Equipment, being a WOSB is about more than a certification, it represents leadership, opportunity, and a commitment to serving our customers and community. Donna’s customer-first approach emphasizes responsiveness, integrity, and understanding the challenges contractors face every day.
We are proud to be a Woman-Owned Small Business and proud to help build a stronger, more inclusive future for the construction industry.
— Industry Alliance · Member Since Aug 2025
More Choice. More Compatibility. More Freedom.
At A&D Equipment, we believe contractors should have the freedom to choose the equipment and attachments that work best for their businesses. That belief is one of the reasons we are proud to be a Supporting Member since August 2025 of the Open-S Alliance, an international organization working to establish an open industry standard for fully automatic quick couplers for excavators.
The Open-S standard is designed to create greater interchangeability between machine couplers, tiltrotators, and work tools from different manufacturers. Rather than locking equipment owners into one proprietary system, an open standard gives contractors greater flexibility to build and expand their fleets around the tools that best fit their individual applications.
For A&D Equipment, membership in the Open-S Alliance represents more than simply supporting a technical standard; it reflects our commitment to innovation, customer choice, and the continued advancement of excavator efficiency. As a company specializing in high-performance excavator attachments, tiltrotators, and work tools, we understand the importance of equipment working together seamlessly and efficiently. We are proud to be part of an industry that is moving toward greater choice, compatibility, efficiency, and innovation.
— Local Investment
Digging Deeper. Investing In Our Community. Building Our Future.
At A&D Equipment, we believe being a part of our community means more than doing business here, it means giving back, building relationships, and investing in the future.
Our Community Service Initiative is focused on creating meaningful, ongoing connections with local schools, organizations, and the communities we call home. Through bi-annual high school presentations, internships, community projects, and charitable giving, we are working to introduce the next generation to the rewarding career opportunities available in the excavation and equipment industry.
A key part of our initiative is strengthening our relationships with area schools. We want students to experience more than a classroom presentation. By creating job-shadow opportunities, and developing paid summer internships, we can give young people a firsthand look at the skills, technology, and career possibilities within our industry.
We are also committed to putting our experience and resources to work through community-based projects and charitable initiatives. From supporting local improvement projects to participating in holiday giving programs, A&D Equipment and the LaFata & Son team are proud to use our skills and resources to make a visible, positive difference.
We are proud to invest in the future of our industry and the communities that have supported us. When we invest in our people and our communities, everyone benefits.
— Grant-Backed Growth
Investing in Growth. Driving Innovation. Growing with Purpose.
At A&D Equipment, we are committed to continually investing in our people, our capabilities, and the future of our business. We are proud that our growth and innovation have been recognized through several competitive grant opportunities.
In 2023, A&D Equipment was awarded the WBDC Equity Match Grant, which allowed us to purchase a MIG welder for our shop. This investment expanded our in-house fabrication capabilities, enabling our team to manufacture hitches on-site rather than outsourcing the work. The new equipment has helped us improve efficiency, control quality, and better serve our customers.
Also in 2023, A&D Equipment received the Community Foundation NHE3 Small Business Grant. Funding from this grant was used to purchase technology that strengthened our marketing capabilities and helped us better promote our products, services, and customer success stories.
In 2024, A&D Equipment was selected as a finalist for the WBDC Ignite Grant. As part of the competition, President Donna LaFata presented the company’s vision for expanding the Rotastar America Tour, a project designed to bring hands-on demonstrations and education about excavator attachments directly to contractors across the country.
These accomplishments reflect A&D Equipment’s commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and strategic growth. We are grateful for the organizations that have invested in our vision and proud to put these resources to work strengthening our business and supporting the customers and communities we serve.
— Leadership & Networks
Learning. Connecting. Leading The Way.
At A&D Equipment, we believe that strong leadership means continually learning, building relationships, and bringing new ideas back to our team and our industry. President Donna LaFata demonstrates that commitment through her active involvement in professional organizations and peer networks.
Donna is a contributing member of the Repurposed Educators Peer Group, a professional network that brings together business leaders with backgrounds in education. Through monthly meetings and discussions, Donna has the opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and build meaningful relationships with other professionals. This industry networking provides valuable perspectives that she can bring back to A&D Equipment to support the company’s continued growth and development.
Donna has also utilized the Repurposed Educators platform to provide professional development opportunities for the A&D Equipment team, extending the value of her involvement beyond her own professional growth.
In addition, Donna is a member of the Professional TrailBuilders Association (PTBA), a nonprofit trade association representing private-sector companies involved in planning, designing, and building trails worldwide. PTBA’s mission is to advance the trail industry by promoting quality and professionalism.
Through these memberships, Donna continues to expand A&D Equipment’s network beyond the traditional construction and equipment industry. Her involvement allows the company to learn from professionals in diverse fields, share knowledge, develop new relationships, and identify opportunities for collaboration.
For A&D Equipment, professional development is not simply about individual growth, it is about bringing new knowledge, connections, and opportunities back to our team, our customers, and the industries we serve.
